STEPHEN M. LARZELERE
Steve Larzelere joined the firm in 1995 and became a partner in 2002. The focus of his practice is maritime defense litigation, with particular emphasis on offshore and inland incidents involving personal injuries, collisions, allisions, sinkings, breakaways, and similar marine accidents. He also has significant experience in trucking and transportation litigation, energy matters, general casualty litigation, and environmental and toxic torts, as well as insurance coverage litigation involving marine, commercial property, energy, and general liability insurance matters.
Mr. Larzelere has handled numerous cases involving personal injury and death, property damage, and marine casualties. He has handled oilfield remediation cases from both a defense and insurance coverage perspective. He has tried or handled cases in Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Texas.
Mr. Larzelere graduated cum laude from Florida State University in 1991. He then graduated from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University in 1994. While in law school, he gained valuable experience working for the Louisiana Attorney General in the Civil Division where he prepared draft opinions regarding an array of state statutes and constitutional provisions and liaised with numerous elected and appointed officials.
