MARY K. DENNARD
Malise Dennard has been in private practice since 1987 and joined the firm in 2000. She became a partner in 2017. The focus of her practice is maritime defense litigation, energy matters, insurance coverage, and coverage litigation.
Ms. Dennard has handled numerous cases involving personal injury and death, marine casualties, gas well blowouts, and significant property damage and business losses sustained by companies in the energy industry. She has also defended insurers in numerous cases involving homeowners claims arising out of major hurricanes. She has tried several cases in the state and federal courts of Louisiana and has handled many cases on appeal.
Ms. Dennard graduated from the University of Virginia in 1984, after spending her junior year abroad studying French in Paris. While in college, she was admitted to the Phi Sigma Iota national foreign language honor society and earned first place in the University of Virginia’s Maas Prize contest for essays written in French. In 1987, she graduated cum laude from Tulane University Law School, where she received the American Jurisprudence Award in Admiralty and was an Associate Editor of the Tulane Civil Law Forum.
